THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN

Michigan consistently ranks among the very best universities in the country. U.S. News & World Report just came out with its 2010 World's Best University Rankings and the University of Michigan was named the fifteenth best University in the world. The Wall Street Journal just came out with their 2010 ranking of the Top 25 Universities in the country whose graduates were the top-rated by recruiters. University of Michigan graduates were ranked sixth in the country by job recruiters. The Gourman Report rates Michigan's philosophy department as fifth in the nation, just ahead of Harvard.

Angell Hall The 2011 U.S. News & World Report rankings rate Michigan as the twenty-ninth best undergraduate institution in the United States and the nation's fourth best public undergraduate institution. U.S. News & World Report ranks highly Michigan's philosophy, history, and political science undergraduate programs. In addition, Michigan's business, law, and medical graduate programs are also ranked as some of the nation's best.

The student body at Michigan is one of its most important assets.  Students at the U of M represent an extremely wide diversity of social, ethnic and economic backgrounds  -- originating from all 50 states and more than 96 foreign countries. There are approximately 26,000 undergraduate students enrolled on the Ann Arbor campus.

Ann Arbor is a beautiful college town of approximately 75,000 people.  Despite its relatively small size, Ann Arbor offers a tremendous environment for intellectual, cultural and social growth.   The city has a cosmopolitan atmosphere, with numerous concerts, film societies, plays and other social events every weekend.
